Red Dates, also known as Jujube, Chinese date, or Da Zao, are an amazing herb that helps to tonify Qi, boost the Spleen, nourish the blood, and calm ones Shen. They are sweet in taste and warm in nature and not only make for a yummy snack but a seriously tasty and highly medicinal tea. This herb also helps to moderate and harmonize properties of other herbs when used in a formula or tea.
This herb is high in iron, potassium, vitamin B and is known to help boost Qi and blood. It is also known as being high in antioxidants, anti-tussive, and anti-neoplastic. This is a great tea to help boost the immune system, revive after a menstrual cycle, or when feeling “run down”.

Red Date with Ginger and Honey Tea is a comforting and healthful beverage celebrated for its numerous benefits. Ingredients
3.5 ounces Red Dates
2-inch piece of Fresh Ginger Root
2 cups water
Honey to taste
Procedure
Rinse the Red dates, and soak in cool water for about 10-15 minutes.
Wash the ginger and cut into thin slices. Leave the peel on.
Place the dates and ginger into a medium-sized saucepan, and add the water.
Place on high heat and bring to a boil. Turn heat to medium-low, cover, and cook for 45 minutes-1 hour.
Remove from heat and pour liquid through a fine mesh strainer. You can mash the dates to get extra benefits.
Add honey to taste (optional)
You can store any remaining tea in a covered jar in the fridge and reheat for next time.
